1994 年1月21日，FE系列的第三部作品“纹章之谜”发售了。游戏的剧情分为两个部分，前半部分以初代暗黑龙与光之剑为蓝本，后半部分新加入英雄战争篇，令游 戏的内容更加丰富。游戏无论在游戏性，战略性还是剧情上都全面超越了此系列以前的作品。美型的人物，高故事性及高难度为其特点。由此开始 FE成为真正的名作，Fami通打出了此系列第一个白金分数36分。
